In the municipality of Alamos (Sonora, Mexico), water is a scarce resource, which is why there is a very special interest in its conservation. The objective of this study was to analyze the perceptions of the inhabitants of seven communities located in the Sierra de Alamos Río-Cuchujaqui Flora and Fauna Protection Area (APFF), in order to estimate the economic value of the water resource and determine its availability. payment. The research has a quantitative methodological approach, with an exploratory, descriptive scope and field design. The contingent valuation method was used to be able to assign an amount to the economic value of the water resource, as well as participatory action research to analyze, describe and understand the phenomenon studied.
