Description
T paper is focused on thermal buckling of laminated beam with periodic supports. In many aerospace applications, thermal protection systems use ceramic tiles bonded to strain isolation pads which in turn are bonded to stiffened aluminum structural panels [1], to simulate this behavior a beam model with periodic multiple supports is considered. The periodic supports are assumed to be the location of the stiffeners. A section of the beam between supports is termed a bay as shown in Fig. 1. Such laminated beam structures often encounter harsh thermal environments. For example, during re-entry and launch of a vehicle where thermal loads become a key factor for consideration in design. In comparison to the analysis of laminated plates and shells under thermal loading (Ref.[2] and [3]), studies so far in the area of laminated composite beams are relatively limited.
