Reply by the current authors to the comments made by J. Elias et al.(see record 2017-52967-042) on the original article (see record 2017-04537-001). The comment by Elias et al. featured a proposed regulation on smokeless tobacco from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The current authors report that this new proposal 1) came out after their commentary, 2) may or may not be valuable for population health and 3) is irrelevant to the long-standing ethical issues related to the public's serious misunderstanding of differential tobacco products risks and the FDA's continuing the deception rather than trying to correct this misinformation.(PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2020 APA, all rights reserved)
