Description
The large amount of data among billions of devices deployed for Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) cause a massive energy consumption. Driven by the pursuit of green communication, this paper presents a space-reserved cooperative caching scheme for IIoT in the fifth generation mobile heterogeneous networks, where the cache space in a base station is divided into two parts, one is used to store the prefetched data from the servers ahead of the device request time and the other is reserved to store the temporarily buffering data in the wireless transmission queue at the device request time. With the constraint that the quality of service is guaranteed, we propose an algorithm to obtain the optimal proportion between the two parts of the cache space for the purpose of reducing the average energy consumption. Simulation results verified that the proposed caching scheme is more efficient than the conventional one …
