Description
RESONANCE-STABILIZED SULFONIUM YLIDES, PARTICULARLY THE Α-KETO YLIDES, ARE USED AS IMPORTANT LIGANDSIN ORGANOMETALLIC AND COORDINATION CHEMISTRY [1]. THE POTENTIAL RICHNESS OF THESE COMPOUNDS IN VARIOUS BINDINGMODES AND THEIR AMBIDENTATE CHARACTER [2], MAKE THE Α-KETO STABILIZED SULFONIUM YLIDES AS VALUABLE COMPOUNDS FOR SYNTHETIC REACTIONS. IN RECENT YEARS, THIS AREA WAS DEVELOPED TO SYNTHESIS OF NEW METAL COMPLEXES DERIVED FROM SULFONIUM YLIDES [3]. AMONG THE VARIOUS COMPLEXES, PD (II)–YLIDE COMPLEXES HAVE BEEN THE MOST WIDELY INTERESTED DUE TO ITS CAPABILITY USING AS CATALYSTS IN CROSS-COUPLING REACTIONS [4]. IN THIS WORK, WE REPORT THE SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF NEW PD (II) COMPLEX [PDCL2 ((ME) 2SCHC (O) C6H4R) 2](R= M-OME)(FIG. 1.). REACTION OF Α-KETO STABILIZED SULFONIUM YLIDES (ME) 2SCHC (O) C6H4R (R= M-OME) WITH PD (COD) CL2 IN 2: 1 RATIOS LEADS TO MONONUCLEAR PRODUCTS OF THE TYPE PDCL2 (YLIDE) 2 IN CIS STRUCTURE. ALSO, THE REACTION OF THIS YLIDE WITH PDCL2, LEADS TO THE BOTH CIS AND TRANS STRUCTURAL ISOMERS. THE REACTION YIELDED THE DESIRED PD (II) COMPLEXES IN EXCELLENT YIELD. CHARACTERIZATION OF THE COMPLEX BY IR, 1H AND 13C NMR SPECTROSCOPY CONFIRMED THE COORDINATION OF YLIDE TO THE METAL THROUGH THE CARBON ATOM.
