Description
Two versions of a bioeconomic model ofthe northwest African cephalopod fishery, one assuming an instantaneous natural mortality rate ofM= 1.25 on an annual basis and the other a rate arM= 2.0. predict the harvest of octopus. Octopus vulgaris; cuttlefish, Sepia spp.; and squid. Loligo spp. These predictions are compared with actual harvest data, the sensitivity or model behavior to changes in important biological parameters is examined, and two manaRement schemes for the fishery are evaluated.
