The Paralympic Games is characterized not only as a major athletic event but also an educational and cultural event. During the past, different Organizing Committees of recent Paralympic Games have developed interesting educational programs, materials, activities and projects providing a plethora of opportunities for young children to experience first hand the common humanity that lies within every human being. More specifically, children attending primary and secondary school participated in as well as out of school activities, learned about the Paralympic Games and become aware of the abilities of athletes with disabilities who participate in one of the most exciting sporting event.
