Description
Travel intermediaries are online travel agencies that conduct hotel bookings in their attempt to earn a share of the travel market. Travel metasites are a new generation of online travel agencies that simultaneously gather data from multiple travel websites and present it to the consumer. This study examined the theories of better value, ease of use, and loyalty in comparing travel intermediaries and travel metasites to determine if travel metasites provide additional benefits for the consumer by having to look at fewer travel websites to find the best price. This study found there were significant differences in loyalty and decision autonomy with travel metasite users being more loyal and having more decision autonomy in the type of online travel booking website they use.
