Description
An electrical resistivity imaging technique has been developed using an extendible array of electrodes that can be deployed up to depths of 1 km using standard 7 core logging cable. Examples are given of an array of 45 electrodes spaced at 1m intervals used both at depths over 300m within a high resistivity environment and near the surface in shallow boreholes which were augmented using surface electrodes in a low resistivity environment. The benefits of using single-hole measurements in addition to cross-hole ones as part of the inversion procedure is discussed.
