CONCLUSIONS: Cyt a, a3 is highly correlated to urodynamic pressures during the filling and emptying cycle of the bladder regardless of gender. Cyt a, a3 changes during times of high detrusor pressure suggest that changes to cellular oxygen utilisation are part of bladder cycling. Rapid changes in Cyt, a3 are demonstrated during detrusor overactivity in humans.
