Purpose: To determine from a societal perspective, the effectiveness and cost effectiveness of concentrated cranberry tablets, tersus cranberryjuice, versus placebo used as prophylaxis against lower urinary trael infection

Materials and methods: One hundred fifty serually actite tuomen aged 21 through 72 years were randomized forone year toone of three groups of prophylaxis: placebo juice* placebo tablets versus placebo juice-cranberry tablets, tersus cranberry juice+ placebo tablets.
