METHODS: Thirty healthy participants with no shoulder problems participated in the study. Three-dimensional (3D) scapular kinematics were collected using a 3D motion capture system (Vicon, Oxford Metrics Ltd., Oxford, UK) while the participants performed nine YJB movements. The kinematic data collected during the 5-second isometric hold of each movement’s last phase was used for data analysis.
RESULTS: A significant movement-by-scapular rotation interaction effect was observed (p< 0.001). Significant scapular upward rotation movements from neutral occurred with all YJB movements (p< 0.001). Significant scapular internal rotation movements from neutral occurred with four movements (column rotation, arm crossover, shoulder support circle, armpit support high lift)(p< 0.01).
