Airborne pollutants are present all the time and everywhere in the form of gases, odors, and particulate matter. These pollutants have an increasing influence on our daily life. In developed countries, an average working person spends over 90% of his or her lifetime indoors. Growing concerns about indoor air quality (IAQ) and apparently increasing incidences of IAQ-related illness in people has inspired many efforts in this area from industry, academia, the general public, and government agencies. During my 10 years of teaching about indoor air pollutant measurement and control for a senior and graduate-level engineering class, one of the difficulties that I encountered was finding a suitable textbook.
