This chapter explores the implications of the coronacrisis for what has become known as the “service economy”, or more broadly “post-industrial society”. It examines both efforts to recover from the coronacrisis while maintaining established trajectories of economic growth and social relations, to more transformational efforts to substantially reorient these towards economic and social renewal. The coronacrisis amplifies some features of our societies and accelerates some ongoing changes; it also provides opportunities for the anticipation of alternative futures.
