Description
Feminist poststructuralists’ political aim is not to mobilise women against their oppression on the basis of their common interests, but to “disidentify”, to welcome the “undecidability” of politics and the impossibility of saying what women are. Thus Elam recommends a “groundless solidarity”, a “politics without the subject” which refuses “to close down the question of difference”(1994, 85). Butler wants us above all to avoid totalization and exclusion.
