Margaret Benner Smidt is stepping away from that role after 12 years of wonderful service. Without Margaret's efforts, Environment could not have continued to operate nearly as well as it has. She will now focus on her other editor role for our sister publication, Weatherwise, which she astoundingly has also been managing to do simultaneously. A new person is stepping up for Environment, as always has to occur, but Margaret will be sorely missed for her discernment, cheerfulness, and generosity. She has encouraged countless authors, helped years of articles come to fruition, and been a wonderful person with whom to work. All of the people who have been working to help Environment serve as an ever-interesting public forum about environmental science, policy, and sustainability will miss her; we all wish her well.
