Methods

This meta-ethnography 1 aimed to improve understanding of the nature and drivers of ethnic inequalities in mental healthcare in the UK. The papers included were published until October 2022 and selected and analysed with an advisory group of patients and practitioners. Academic papers and grey literature discussing experiences of adults and young people, service users, carers and service providers, in both statutory and voluntary sectors, were included. A total of 66 papers met the inclusion criteria and these included participants from 14 ethnic groups across 15 UK regions.
