76 former student leaders from 3 institutions completed a questionnaire assessing the effect of their student leadership experiences (SLEs) on selected major activities of their lives (eg, marriage and career plans) and their perceptions of the influence of their SLEs on selected skills (eg, budgeting, organizing, and planning). Demographic information was collected about Ss' leadership position, sex, current occupation, and whether they changed their occupational plans as a result of their SLEs. The few differences found in the responses of Ss indicated that the effect of SLEs was similar regardless of the characteristics of the institution in which Ss were enrolled. Only 1 significant sex difference was found, indicating that sex as an intervening variable may have little impact on the influence of SLEs.
