Results
The results show that individual emergency preparedness cannot work without community support. Citizens emphasise the importance of stockpiling, accessible places of protection, reliable social relationships and positive thinking with regard to crisis and emergency preparation. However, they also show a clear need for information dissemination and networking.
Discussion
It became clear that citizens perceive a high level of personal responsibility. There are gaps in knowledge and a need for information on the part of citizens, which is why support from municipal authorities is necessary. The study highlights the need to actively involve municipal decision-makers to strengthen resilience at a behavioural and relational level.
Conclusion
