Tables 2 and 3 summarize the structural relations from authoritarianism to ethnocentrism and from ethnocentrism to ingroup idealization, anti-Semitism, and negative attitudes toward foreigners. In addition, a covariance is reported for the residuals of anti-Semitism and negative attitudes toward foreigners. The model required allowing the errors of these two latent variables to freely covary. This is not surprising given that the two concepts are considered two dimensions of outgroup devaluation and, consequently, more strongly related to each other than to the ingroup idealization variable. Furthermore, prejudices toward different minorities are often found to be strongly related to each other (Cunningham et al., 2004; p. 1333).
