Description
This paper develops an analytical model for the SCI coherence protocol based on approximate meanvalue analysis techniques. The model is tested against a detailed simulator running on the Wisconsin Wind Tunnel 7] using four SPLASH benchmarks 6]. The simulator is instrumented to obtain model input parameters per application. For two of the four benchmarks, the model produces response times which are within 6% of the response times obtained from simulation. For the other two benchmarks, response times di er by 20% and 30%; a hypothesis for the discrepancy is presented.
