Description
Background
Over the past two decades evidence from both research and practice has drawn attention to the marked health inequalities faced by people with intellectual disabilities (Krahn et al., 2006; O'Hara et al., 2010; Ouellette‐Kuntz, 2005; Graham, 2005). This evidence highlights that people with intellectual disabilities have poorer health than their non‐disabled peers, and that these differences are to a significant extent avoidable and consequently unjust.
