To develop a multiple regression model for the prediction of sediment yield, 99 small (< 50 km²) catchments from two different rock types (flysch and molasse) were studied. For each drainage basin, 28 independent variables were measured. Equations were derived for each rock type and tested against the measurements. The sediment yield was determined for 274 third order drainage basins.
