Description
The present study entitled Domestic Violence–The Role of the Public Safety Police Concerning Underage Children focused on the analysis of the response process, activated by this security force, towards these victims, whether directly or indirectly, involved in domestic violence. In particular, the aim was to evaluate if the measures taken by the police officers connected to the service of general jurisdiction in each police station, regarding the management of occurrences, the attendance at police stations and the monitoring of the victims, are the most appropriate to facilitate the criminal investigation. This investigation took place in Lisbon and the intention, using the technique of semi structured interview, was to obtain information from those who work directly with domestic violence cases in different contexts, and as a result reach a broader perspective of the work done by the police agents who are the first in the line of intervention. The conclusion was that the process of intervention could be improved with reference to data collection, fact descriptions, gathering of proof evidence, articulation between the police
