Description
RESULTS
According to the IOM framework, 16, 17 the reviewed studies were identified as primary prevention interventions, which targeted adolescents or young adults without a history or detected occurrence of NMUPD. In terms of their prevention strategies, the reviewed studies were categorized into universal prevention (targeting general samples of adolescents or young adults) and selective prevention (targeting adolescent or young adults who were at increased risk for NMUPD). Each category included interventions using in-person meetings or technology directed at the individual level, family or group level, and community level. The search strategy did not identify any secondary prevention interventions (ie, interventions delivered to adolescents or young adults who were already engaged in NMUPD) that met inclusion criteria.
