This paper presents the X-band UAV-borne SAR data acquisition and imaging system developed at Prince Sultan Defense Studies and Research Center (PSDSARC) in collaboration with MetaSensing, Italy. The developed SAR system conforms with the SWaP constraints for our in-house developed UAV. A computationally efficient scheme is also developed for SAR image reconstruction, incorporating motion compensation and frame-based real-time focusing. A recent field trial for SAR data acquisition took place over the Perugia, Italy in December 2022. The developed frame-based SAR image focusing approach is evaluated using the collected data.
