This paper describes collaborative social authoring technology using web-based distributed user interface. In view of collaboration, web is one of the most common user environments on various systems of desktop and mobile devices (eg smartphone, tablets, laptops). One of the features of our system includes collaborative social authoring method using various metadata information (eg mood, weather, time, location) of each uploaded media for the collaborative authoring. Our system also provides the recommendation function for referring and adding the related media from the participants’ Facebook account during the authoring process, based on some recommendation rules. This paper presents an extension of our previous social authoring system, which is based on the concept of Distributed User Interfaces (DUIs) to be adaptable when the users collaborate using various kinds of devices like mobile devices or desktop systems.
