Climate has a fundamental impact on organismal physiology, which in turn can have a profound influence on species distributions. Yet the mechanisms linking climate, physiology, and distribution are not fully resolved. Here we investigate the physiology of Lampropholis skinks along a latitudinal gradient in eastern Australia (8 species, 196 individuals), including species that are widespread (L. delicata, L. guichenoti), and range-restricted in tropical (L. mirabilis, L. similis) or subtropical (L. adonis, L. amicula.
