Description
METHODS:
Human Bronchial Epithelial Cells (HBEC) cultured from bronchoscopically obtained epithelial brushings from asthmatic and control subjects. Cells were cultured in an air liquid interface (ALI) system and stimulated with IL-13 for acute (24 hours) and chronic (7 days) periods to simulate clinical asthma conditions. Original media was removed and replaced with IL-13 free fresh media for up to 72 hours. Total protein was harvested and 15LO1 expression detected by Western blot. 15HETE and 15HETE-PE were analyzed by HPLC/MS.
