Description
In this chapter, the authors provide empirical evidence about how individuals conceptualize and contextualize happiness, life goals, and meaning across seven Western countries. They analyze these aspects through the findings obtained from the Eudaimonic and Hedonic Happiness Investigation (EHHI) project. The authors outline the theoretical reference framework, present findings, and explore connections and differences between their perspective and some philosophical and psychological conceptualizations of well-being referred to in this book. Although they acknowledge the importance of collaboration across disciplines when dealing with any aspect of human life, according to the authors, there are still several issues that should be clarified in order to develop solid connections between the psychological and philosophical theories currently dealing with well-being.(PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2023 APA …
