The present research aimed to verify General what are the possible impacts of the use of the VTMIS in port management and in pilotage activity in the port of Santos in Brazil. Regarding the methodological procedures used, can qualify this research as to the nature, as an applied research, and how the approach and qualitatively and in relation to the goal as exploratory. The technical procedure used was the case study at the port of Santos. As a result, it was found that the use of VTMIS system shows up as an alternative to increase the efficiency of the flow of vessels in ports, impacting the port system as a whole. This search can represent a contribution in order to interface the theme applied to the management port and VTMIS the pilotage activity.
