Description
The traditional finite-state-model predictive thrust control (FS-MPTC) method for the linear induction machines (LIMs) needs to find proper weighting factor (WF) for adjusting the cost function terms, and the tuning procedures are tedious by enumerating multiple try cases. For solving aforementioned problems, one improved finite-state model predictive voltage control (FS-MPVC) is proposed in this work, which can eliminate the use of the WF from the cost function along with reducing the calculation burden. The reference voltage vector is predicted, based on the concept of deadbeat model predictive control, which can be used to construct a cost function. Through a comprehensive simulation and analysis for a 3-kw linear induction machine (LIM), entire comparisons between both the proposed FS-MPVC and the conventional FS-MPTC have been done. The results show that, the proposed FS-MPVC can successfully …
