Description
This paper presents a weighted multi-objective mixed-integer-non-linear programming model to integrate manufacturing scheduling and environmentally sustainable supply chain network (SCN). The SCN consists of two echelons including a manufacturing plant and customers. The manufacturing system adopted in the plant is cellular manufacturing. Production sequence of each product is determined based on the manufacturing capacity and customer due date. Consequently, the manufactured products are shipped by the appropriate transportation mode that minimizes transportation cost and meets the customer due date. The first objective of the model is to maximize the total net profit in the network, the second objective is to minimize the environmental impact (EI) of using an alternative transportation mode, and the third objective is to minimize the probability of tardiness for shipping the products.
