The scope of HCI has broadened considerably in the last decade to include concerns with experience, emotion and aesthetics. A small but growing body of work studies the role of digital technology in supporting religious and spiritual practices and experiences. Addressing such sensitive topics presents many challenges, both in understanding the practices being supported and addressing them in design.
