Description
College students visiting drinking environments risk sexual and physical aggression. We test a field method designed to reduce these negative experiences. Using the High Ecological Survey of Risky Behavior method (HEVSORB), we assessed the efficacy of a brief intervention adapted from the successful" SafeNights" intervention. The intervention (relative to the control) significantly reduced some reported negative experiences of participants who received it. The HEV-SORB method was an effective vessel for administering experimental tests of interventions in our sample on a university campus, and the same could be true for similar real-world drinking environments.
