VCC 1 focused on understanding what an intergenerational age-friendly ecosystem is and what it can look like. Participants explored the national and international context of current models of community and social hubs and a network of hubs for intergenerational working. The pre-workshop activity involved photo submissions from participants which were used to create a virtual mood board of ideas. Mood board ideas informed discussions for the creative exercise within the workshop. Workshop activities included a project overview; a case study presentation on intergenerational places; a visual mapping discussion for the VCC 1 creative exercise; input, feedback and ideas from the younger participant breakout sessions; full group discussion and idea sharing; and an interpretation under COVID-19 discussion.
