Description
The rapid development of digital access has facilitated the widespread availability of distance learning courses, including the proliferation of massive open online courses (MOOCs). In the health sector, MOOCs were not only targeting frontline and healthcare workers but also the general public. To date, most MOOCs in health-related courses mainly target adults, particularly those in post-secondary education. Although MOOCs are accepted in health-related fields, studies on the utilisation of MOOCs targeting adolescents as audiences/users remain scarce. Review questions 1. What types of health-related and non health-related massive open online courses (MOOCs) are publicly accessible to adolescents? 2. What are the most effective strategies of engaging adolescents in MOOCs across health and other subject areas? 3. What evaluation methods are used for assessing the outcomes of MOOCs that target adolescents?
