Description
The idea for this thematic issue was introduced at the end of the Earth Sciences conference of the French-Siberian Centre for Research and Training (FSCRT) that took place on August 21st, 2014 in Barnaul (Siberia; fig. 1). The meeting was followed by a geological fieldtrip, led by Dr. Michaïl Buslov (Novosibirsk), which allowed most of the participants to appreciate the geology of the mountainous region of Gorny-Altai.
