Two workshops aiming to enhance capacity for CO2 capture and storage and the Clean Development Mechanism in Africa were held in Dakar, Senegal, and Gaborone, Botswana in September 2007. These were organised by the Energy research Centre of the Netherlands in collaboration with Environment & Development Action in the Third World (Dakar) and Energy, Environment, Computer & Geophysical Applications (Botswana), and attended by some 120 participants from over 20 African countries.
