Description
In this study, melliferous plants that can be used by the honey bees (Apis mellifera L.) were presented in Düzce-Yığılca region. The aims of this study are to determine and introduce melliferous plants of Hasanlar Dam (Yığılca-Düzce) and reveal the floristic diversity of suitable areas for beekeeping. As a result of flora survey, 537 taxa were determined in the region. Nectar and pollen containing plants among the plants were defined from the relevant literature review. From the investigation of the flora, 207 taxa belonging to 59 families were identified as melliferous plants which have potential to be used by bees for their pollen and nectar. Then each plant were described with their Latin and Turkish names, habitats, florescence times and products (nectar, pollen).
