Introduction. Studies from all around the world argue that elderly people are the main users of health care services and consume disproportionately for all prescribed drugs [1]. The complexity of treatment regimens can lead to an accumulation of medications, confusion because medications look similar (especially in the case of generic medications) [2]. Patients’ intrinsic factors (e.g. cognitive impairment and false beliefs regarding some drugs) have been also cited among the most common causes of nonadherence and of involuntary errors related to taking medication at home [3]. There is also the problem of inappropriate use of pharmaceutical drugs, a factor that can also result in hospitalizations [4].
