The second volume of Business Transformation through Blockchain contains four sections and an appendix. It starts with a selection of use cases from a variety of different industries, such as tourism, energy, the Internet of Things, and healthcare. In the following section on sustainability, several papers discuss the potential of the blockchain to create a more sustainable economy, ranging from a circular economy to questioning the economic growth paradigm as such. Societal impacts, which are closely connected to the preceding section, also deal with issues such as sustainability and a circular economy but also include topics related to digital identity and e-government as well as banking for the unbanked.
