Description
Chen and Lim (2022) set out to develop a new price model that characterizes the transfer of demands between products through the concept of product networks. The model addresses the difficulties in describing the transfer of demands between substitutable products in the existing price models. Using a stochastic framework, the extreme sales volumes can be properly described via probabilities. Then, the product network structure can be embedded to reduce the number of required observations for calibrating the proposed model. Thus a contribution is identified, as the transfer of demands between products can be modeled at the store level to provide detailed descriptions of purchasing behaviors. Sticking with retail pricing, Dawra and Katyal (2022) explore decoding of price promotions through a moderated model of fairness, trust, and deal proneness.
