Description
The Sixteenth Copper Mountain Conference on Iterative Methods was scheduled to be held March 21--26, 2020, in Copper Mountain, Colorado, chaired by Michele Benzi of Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa and John N. Shadid of Sandia National Laboratories. Unfortunately, the meeting was canceled because of the Covid-19 outbreak, but it was decided to carry on with the special section dedicated to recent progress in iterative methods. Perhaps because the conference was not held in person, a record number of 71 manuscripts were submitted, and 38 of these were accepted for publication in this volume. The papers in this section all center on iterative methods, yet they cover a broad range of topics and include theoretical developments, algorithms, and applications.
