Description
This chapter focuses on the simultaneously generative and fraught relationship between feminisms and fat. The entry will focus first on the significance of feminist theories to a cultural understanding of fat and fat stigma. Next, it will trace some of the major historical correspondences between fat activisms and feminisms, including both the fraught and the generative relationships. Finally, it will note some ongoing theoretical and activist dilemmas inherent within fat feminisms.
