The fabrication of spectrally selective absorbers represents a critical technology necessary in the domain of solar energy. The well-known demand of high absorptance, low emittance, and enhanced thermal, as well as environmental stability complicates efforts to develop strategies for improving a materials’ spectral selectivity. Despite several reports on spectrally selective absorbers, these studies are mainly focused on two critical factors: spectral selectivity and thermal stability. While demand for spectrally selective absorbers is growing continuously, the photothermal conversion efficiency at elevated temperature is still not sufficient for these systems to reach the targeted outcome for an installed collector.
