Description
]. Although we respectfully disagree with Dr Boers’ perspective on the wholesale rejection of circular graphing techniques, we concur with the concerns raised about the arbitrariness of radar plot. In fact, the concern of the potential misuse of radar plot was precisely the inspiration of our origami plot, which introduces an important degree of stability against the arbitrary ordering of axes.
We acknowledge that the origami plot, as any other visualization tools, is well suited for some scenarios but not all. For instance, in situations where the variables represent completely unrelated concepts, the connected regions of the origami plot lose their interpretation. However, one may question the rationale of visualizing the unrelated concepts together at the first place.
