With technology evolving every day, sustainability is becoming increasingly important, in order to preserve our world and our future. As defined by World Commission on Environment and Development: Our Common Future (1987), sustainable development is “development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”. Despite sustainability development being composed of three main pillars (social, environmental and economic), in the analyzed paper, the focus will be only on environmental sustainability. Nowadays, this is a very important concern when talking of sustainability due the pressing importance of the footprint of the ICT sector (Deprez, Ramdoyal & Ponsard, 2012).
