In a general aspect, a computer-implemented method can include displaying, on a display of an electronic device, an object from a first virtual reality (VR) viewpoint. The method can further include overlaying, on the display, a highlight within the first VR viewpoint of the object. The method can also further include transitioning, on the display of the electronic device without simulated motion, from displaying the object from the first VR viewpoint with the highlight to displaying the object from a second VR view point. The second VR viewpoint can be a close-up view of a portion of the object that is within the highlight in the first VR viewpoint.
