Amniotomy, or artificial rupture of the amniotic membranes with the intention of accelerating the progress of labor, is among the most commonly performed obstetrical procedures. A clinical trial study was conducted at this universityaffiliated teaching hospital in Hamedan, Iran, to determine the effects of amniotomy on labor duration.
